‘Marilyn Monroe Rejected Series No. 1‘ is an open edition print by Stephen McClean.
This artwork is available unframed or framed in a white, wide box frame.
Stephen McClean's 'Rejected' series is inspired by photographer Bert Stern's 'The Last Sitting'. The Last Sitting is a book and photo shoot of Monroe by Stern, the photo shoot was commissioned by Vogue magazine in late June 1962 which took place over 3 daily sessions, just six weeks before Monroe died.
Bert Stern first published The Last Sitting in 1982. The book included over 2,500 images that Stern had shot, including images that Monroe had disliked and crossed out. Inspired by the rejected images, Stephen painted three original artworks.
