'Ulster Says No Rally 1' is a signed photographic print by Frankie Quinn of the 'Ulster Says No' rally at the City Hall in Belfast 1985. 'Ulster Says No' was the name and slogan of a unionist mass protest campaign against the provisions of the 1985 Anglo-Irish Agreement which gave the government of the Republic of Ireland an advisory role in the governance of Northern Ireland. To get this incredible shot Frankie scaled scaffolding that was on an adjoining building.

This is a signed and dated hand printed silver gelatin print by Frankie Quinn, developed in a darkroom on glossy photographic paper which shows strong contrasts - blacks in the image are more prominent. This print dates back many years to when the photograph was developed and as such show signs of wear and tear, which in a perverse way has added character to the photograph. This print, along with the rest in his analogue print series, are among the last remaining black and white darkroom prints he developed.
