Blanca Gomez

Blanca Gomez is an illustrator living in Madrid, Spain. She started illustrating when she was very young and now she makes illustrations for clients all around the world. She has a clean and simple colourful style and is more than happy to discuss her work and creative process.

Blanca has always been very interested in Comics, particularly Japanese illustrators and has said she is ‘impressed by the simplicity in the drawings’. The French illustrator Sempé has inspired Blanca and other illustrators that are among her favorites include Dupuy and Barberian who also illustrate comics. A fan of mid-century design, Blanca has mentioned, in a recent article, people like Alexander Girad, Olle Eksell and Bruno Munari. Presently, She is ‘smitten’ with Vostok, a Catalonian studio that employs fabulous printing techniques. Another illustration favorite is illustrator and designer Cristobal Schmal who also happens to be a colleague. Blanca is rather individualistic in her work but really enjoys collaborative projects especially when they involve good friends who happen to be really great at what they do.
