Julie-Ann Crooks

Having started my creative career studying Art and Design here in Belfast, I went on to graduate from the University College for the Creative Arts at Rochester with a degree in Fashion Design. A great love for fashion and clothing, especially historical period wear, encouraged me to pursue a career in TV and film costume.

I find it just as rewarding working with fabric as I do with paint. A keen eye for detail has proved beneficial in bringing my artwork to life. My subject matter comes from many zoo visits with my camera. I love spending time photographing the more exotic animals and birds, zooming in on their unusual patterns and textures, and recreating them in as much bright and beautiful detail as possible.
