Paula Batt is a local artist based in Bangor, Co. Down specialising in hand drawn and hand-cut paper cuts. "I am not myself unless I am making something! If I'm not making something then I'm usually thinking about it! Everything I create is unique, unusual, quirky and maybe a little bonkers!! I firmly believe that creativity cannot be taught, but comes from within, and I try to express my individuality through my work. I try to use recycled objects and materials when possible and I love the whole 'make do and mend' mentality.
I have recently found a love for paper-cutting and this is where I feel free to express myself, I normally don't have a plan of what to cut, I just start and go with the flow! All my paper-cuts are drawn and cut by hand using a surgical scalpel; some take hours to complete.
