Sylvia Parkinson Brown

Although Sylvia's formal training was in sculpture, in recent years she has devoted her time to painting and drawing. Animals have always featured in her work and her studio is surrounded by lush Kilkenny farmland, with horses to one side, cattle to the other and a wealth of wildlife passing in between.

She needs nothing more than the innocence of the animal to inspire and is frequently happiest just playing around with simple graphite sticks or charcoal. Sylvia is a professional artist and fully trained teacher, keen to promote the value of art as a subject for study, from grass roots to gallery. Her studio is situated approximately six miles from the medieval city of Kilkenny
