January 2026 - Illustrated Affirmations Workshop with Rachel Browne

New to Yard Gallery! Learn how to recreate Rachel’s signature loose style for your own illustrated affirmation.

In this unique workshop, Rachel will guide you through a series of drawing exercises designed to help loosen control and find your creative flow.

You will then create your own illustrated affirmation, drawing inspiration from a selection of curated imagery and text cuttings. Using Rachel’s signature loose style, layer expressive, gestural brushstrokes and marks with abstract shapes and illustrative linework to bring your ideas to life.

You will develop your own personal affirmations inspired by your imagery, incorporating words and phrases into your artwork that feel meaningful, which is a distinctive feature of Rachel’s art prints. The outcome will be a unique, expressive illustration that reflects your individuality and serves as a source of healing.

Rachel Browne is a Belfast-based artist and illustrator, trained at the Glasgow School of Art, best known for her whimsical, expressive prints, that serve as a source of healing, often incorporating affirmations. Her work has built a loyal following across Belfast and Ireland.
