Jenny Russell

With a background in architecture, and in particular, architectural education, Jenny Russell has been using drawing as a means of communication with students for the last fifteen years. She is the author and illustrator of a book about architecture for children called “How to Design a Building” (PLACE, 2014) and has had a solo exhibition of the same name. With a fascination in the thin line where that above reaches down to that below, Jenny has been investigating this in acrylic, particularly in terms of how light plays out in that arena. Despite a subdued palette, she paints seascapes for the viewer to inhabit and to be drawn into a joyful light.
