Paul Kelly

Paul Kelly was born in the Glens of Antrim, he began painting from early childhood from scenes in the local area and this continued throughout his school years. With a keen eye for the quirky, bold and colourful, Paul’s art has a unique style. Growing up in the Glens, he always had an appreciation of the countryside but also local history and indeed some of his paintings capture a brief moment in time with added imagination. He was also inspired from an early age by cartoons, animation and abstract Art.  Some are created from memory and often have a story behind them.  This combines to engage the viewer by creating art full of vibrant colour and flow and life forms- why not try to create your own story for one of his paintings! He also enjoys traveling and this shows in many of his paintings.  His early career was as a sign writer, poster designer using simple attractive colours for advertising purposes but gradually his career path changed. The past few years has rekindled Paul’s artistic flair and his yearning to be creative again leading him to return to Art, though on canvas this time.   He enjoys experimenting with new materials, patterns and colours, always exploring and developing new ideas.    The world of art is fascinating and diverse and he is really looking forward to where this journey will take him.
