Sorrel Wills

Sorrel is a local artist, inspired by the beauty that surrounds us, noticed in ordinary everyday places and activities. She captures times when we rest our eyes on a sunlit vista, feel the warmth and experience contentment. Many of the works are sunlit as these moments are precious to Sorrel and the paintings are cheery when the weather is less clement. Various locations, both locally and abroad have inspired her. She works in oils exploring the pleasures of depicting sunlight and shade with loose brush  strokes or vigorous palette knife effects and an appreciation of colour and contrast. Sorrel attended University of Ulster and has a degree in Fine Craft Design. She has painted and been in creative fields all her life and has had several solo exhibitions over the last couple of years. Her most recent was in the Linen Hall Library in Belfast. She is an associate member of the Art Society of Ulster.
