Stephanie Parker

Stephanie Parker is a freelance designer, artist and illustrator, brough up in Belfast and with a background in Fashion and Textile Design. She completed a four year sandwich degree at the University of Brighton in Fashion and Textile Design with Business Studies and worked in London for a year, in PR and in design studios assisting with the production of designer collections for London Fashion Week. Deciding that fashion was not her calling and after five or six years following alternative career paths and travelling the world, she decided to return to her artistic passion. She left fashion behind in favour of illustration, textile and homeware design. Her artwork is defined by the use of bold, bright colours and patterns and detailed pen work, or intricate handwork in textiles, depending on the project. Her inspirations are numerous and diverse but her love of travel and nature influences everything she does. Her interest in the field of art is just as diverse. She loves working in 2D using pen and ink or a brush and paint but she also enjoys working in 3D - using a sewing machine or recycling and recreating unwanted objects. Since 2008 she has been working hard to establish herself as a freelance designer /illustrator. She has exhibited her work in Brighton’s Arts Festival as well as at other art fairs in England and won a competition to participate in an exhibition in Windsor in Spring 2010. Her work has been sold through IO Gallery in Brighton. She is now pleased to be exhibiting and selling work back at home.
