Una O Grady

Una O'Grady was born in North Belfast in 1976 and graduated from the University of Ulster with a degree in Fine Art. She is well known for her paintings of Belfast city and rural animal studies. Finger-painting or with a palette knife, Una excavates on canvas.  She has a fresh and seemingly effortless approach to painting. Her bold approach is full of movement and immediacy and this use of daring colour and texture is typical of her unique and contemporary style. Una has exhibited in the Royal Ulster Academy, achieving a special award there in 2001.  She has had numerous successful solo shows and her work is included in many collections including the U.T.V, Queen's University, B.B.C Archive and Northern Bank collections. In this 'Bovine' series of prints, the individual personalities of these wonderful creatures are on show.  Their idiosyncratic movements and poses are captured as Una continues to approach her subject matter with a sensitivity, insight and vigour.<br />
