Brian Moorhead
Brian Moorhead was born in Belfast and currently lives in Bangor, Co. Down. Enthusiastic and experimental in various art forms throughout his life, Brian has a long working background particularly associated with typography, graphics and design. Always keen to explore fresh ways of communicating visually, his current work makes dramatic and vibrant use of acrylics and mixed media to convey an energy and excitement frequently drawn from his passion for plants, gardens and nature.
Although sometimes simple in statement, his work invariably carries a deeper message or significance, sometimes prompted by a word, title or idea which has personal meaning in his life and experiences. At times unconventional in his approach to structure, his work, while mainly instantly accessible, simultaneously provides meaning and pleasure at various levels and offers fresh and imaginative use of colour and form.
