Johnathan Cameron
Johnathan Cameron was born and brought up in Bangor, Co. Down. As a young child he remembers that he was rarely without a pencil in his hand and drawing was his favourite pastime. It was an easy decision on his part to go to the prestigous Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design London studying Fashion then Graphic Design, graduating with a BA Hons in 1997. After graduating, Johnathan embarked on his professional career as a Graphic Designer in London for five years, working for clients such as Paul Smith, Sony Music and the BBC.
His work encompasses various mediums with the broad subject matter based on landscapes, cityscapes, culture and travel. Tonal and subtle, his palette uses the more subdued end of the colour spectrum, yet still manages to convey a sense of light, space and structure with a graphic subtlety. All these things come together to allow his work to evoke an emotion and viewer engagement.
